To Add Widget:From your home screen, press Menu, Add, Widget, Bridge Card.

Android 2.2 (Froyo) or newer can change the widget background color, if you are running 2.1 or older that option will be missing. If you use the Layout with the Bridge Card background you will not want to use this setting, it is meant for Transparent background.
