During this procedure, you will begin by learning what dental problems braces are used to address, and you will help take an impression of the patient’s teeth to create a mold that will be used to create the custom dental appliances. When the braces are ready, you will polish the patient’s teeth before inserting molar bands to anchor the braces. Then you will added bonded brackets using a bonding agent on each of the teeth. After all of the teeth are bracketed, you will carefully slip archwire through each bracket to connect them, clip the ends for comfort, and apply elastic ligatures so that the archwire stays firmly in place. Our patient is ready, so let’s begin “straight away!”
